Measurement And Calculation Gradient Of Haul Road Or Mine Road

Haul road has an important role in the production of open cast mine. In the mining gradient of haul road at any place not more than 1 in 16. Important duty of surveyor check and survey of proposed haul road.

Procedure:-

(1) Survey of proposed road with all details.
(2) complete the levelling work along the centre line of the proposed road.
(3) Make a plan and section.
(4)Calculate cut and fill from calculation or section drawing.

Difference of R.L -A to F = 6.73 mt

In the above calculation, the gradient of the proposed road is 1 in 13.37. We observed that the 1in 13.37 gradient is more than compression to 1in 16. we should extend the length of the proposed road

Total length will be proposed road -16*6.73= 107.68 mt.

For setting the proposed RL on the ground by use of peg at a given distance. Draw the pegs on given distance and write of the cut length on it for direction of supervisor or operator.
